This sauerkraut is surprisingly sweet and is traditionally with dumplings and pork roast. We’ve added a little extra flavor with bacon, but its addition is completely optional. Ingredients Needed:

  • 1 onion
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable or olive oil.
  • 1 can or half a jar of sauerkraut
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 3 slices bacon, crumbled into small pieces (optional)
Also, have on hand: Saucepan, knife and cutting board.
  • Serves: 4-6 servings
  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
  • Cook Time: 30 minutes
