- 1 onion
- 1 tablespoon vegetable or olive oil.
- 1 can or half a jar of sauerkraut
- 1 tsp caraway seeds
- ¼ cup sugar
- 3 slices bacon, crumbled into small pieces (optional)
- Serves: 4-6 servings
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cook Time: 30 minutes
Place oil in saucepan and heat over medium-low heat.
When oil is heated, sauté onions until soft.
Add the sauerkraut, including some of the juices. Also add caraway seeds.
And then add the sugar.
Bring to light boil and place lid on saucepan.
Cook on medium low heat for about 20 minutes. Just before serving, you can add the optional crumbled bacon.
It goes great with Pork Roast!
