Art Skills Development: Autumn Leaf Subject

Continuing on with our autumn art theme, here’s a way to turn children’s interest in leaves into an art lesson. Have children collect a leaf that they like from outside. Cut it in half and glue it on a piece of drawing paper. Have children draw the other side of the leaf, paying attention to shapes, textures and more.

You can also discuss the type of leave it is and learn more about the tree it came from. Google Images and Wikipedia should be able to help in that department. 😉
